Our journey began in Colorado in May 2023 when he slid into my Instagram DMs (😉) after seeing a picture on my story. We immediately began conversing and found out we were both Nigerians pursuing our graduate studies in Colorado, with only a few months left until graduation. He suggested we meet that weekend, and I happily agreed. Our first meeting was at the Gaylord Resorts, and it was such a beautiful outing. I remember texting my friend as soon as I got home about how kind he was and how wonderful it felt.

Actually, our first encounter was in September 2021 when my friend sent me her Twitter profile. She had just posted about moving from Lagos to Colorado for grad school and I was already a few years into my PhD in Colorado as well. I reached out with a supportive message, congratulating her and offering a helping hand, to which she thanked me, but we didn’t stay in touch—life moved on, and our paths didn’t cross again until Instagram intervened.

In early 2023, Instagram suggested her profile to me. I followed her, she followed back, but we didn’t start a conversation until May, when I replied to one of her stories. From that moment, everything fell into place. We connected instantly and started building something that felt certain and steady from day one.

A little over a year later, in September 2024, we took the next step when I proposed, sealing our commitment to a lifetime of adventure. Shortly after, we celebrated with a pre-wedding shoot at the Red Canyon in Vegas, capturing the joy of this new chapter.

Now, here we are, looking forward to forever and excited to share our journey with you all.
